‘Pray at all times (on every occasion, in
every season) in the Spirit, with all manner of) prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong
purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s
consecrated people)’ (Eph 6:18).
Paul is exhorting the saints to pray in the
spirit by the help of the Holy Spirit.
For the Holy Spirit helps us to pray effectively. He keeps you alert, and gives you the grace
to persevere in your prayer.
1 Cor 2: 12
says, ‘now, we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who
is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by
God.’ The Holy Spirit in us is from God who knows the things of
God. Paul wrote to the saints of Romans
8: 26,27, ‘Now He (The Holy Spirit) who searches the hearts knows what the mind of
the Spirit is because He makes intercession for the saints according to the
will God.’ The Holy Spirit makes
also intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Stop struggling!
Lean on the Holy Spirit in you who knows the things of God, the deeper
things of God. He knows about your
problem and enables you to pray according to the will of God. He goes beyond
your problem and the natural limitations.
Thus your prayer becomes more effective!
Praying in the spirit is the best way when you
don’t know how to pray or what to pray.
